Getting Here

By Car

As we are located in downtown Porto, at the crossroads of Rua de Ceuta and Rua de José Falcão (next to the Wine & Books hotel, near the Nogueira’s restaurant and Ribeiro bakery), traffic in our area has been heavily affected by ongoing roadworks. In particular, drivers coming from the Aliados area cannot currently reach Neonia by going up Rua de Ceuta. Instead, they must go around the back of the City Hall and drive up Rua do Dr. Ricardo Jorge.

We do not have private parking on site, but the area is served by several public car parks and street parking options (all subject to payment).

By Public Transport
(Metro / Bus)

The nearest metro station to Neonia is Aliados. From there, it’s just a short 5-minute walk to our venue.
To reach Aliados station, take line D (yellow), which runs between Hospital de São João and Santo Ovídio.

If you’re coming via lines A, B, C or E (e.g. from Porto Airport), go to Trindade station and switch to line D, exiting at Aliados.
(Or simply walk from Trindade — it’s only a 10-minute walk, and you won’t have to wait!)

In addition to the metro, several bus routes pass even closer to Neonia. The nearest stops are:
Praça Filipa de Lencastre (2-minute walk)
Aliados (5-minute walk)

Tickets and Opening Hours

Ticket prices vary depending on the time of year, the age of the visitors, and — when purchasing multiple tickets — the size of the group.
Prices can be checked at the physical ticket office (on a digital display at the entrance, Rua de Ceuta 116, 4050-190 Porto) or via the online ticketing system.

The museum is open every day of the week from 10:00 to 21:00.
The first session starts at 10:00, and the last entry is at 19:30.
Entry slots are available every 15 minutes, with no lunch break closure.

Duration of the visit

Neonia is past, present, and future all at once. That’s why the notion of time holds a different meaning for each visitor. As a permanently temporary place, we suggest a minimum duration to properly explore the space, but there’s no fixed overall time limit*.
A recommended route has been designed to help you make the most of your visit.

From our own experience as the architects of this city of fantasy, we suggest that you explore Neonia over a period of 1 to 2 hours.

*The only time restriction applies to the first room, “Neonia City”, where the maximum stay is 15 minutes, in order to avoid delaying the next group. There are no time limits in the remaining rooms.

Accessibility

There is a lifting platform at the entrance, an interior lift, and level access throughout most of the space. However, due to structural limitations of the building, there are three areas that are not accessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs: the Metro do Porto and Jardim rooms on floor 0, and the Cofre Psicadélico room on floor -1.
Our assistants are always available to guide visitors with reduced mobility, ensuring they enjoy the best experience possible!

Clothing & Footwear

We want you to have fun while exploring our space, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear.
Walking barefoot or in flip-flops is not allowed, and stilettos are strictly prohibited, as they scratch the floors, and we can’t keep varnishing 1500 sqm every week!
Tuxedos and ballgowns can stay in the wardrobe, but we do suggest Instagrammable outfits, because you’ll definitely want to take hundreds of photos!

Some installations include mirrors on the walls, floor, and ceiling, as well as other reflective materials, which may create a feeling of exposure.
We advise more reserved visitors to keep this in mind and opt for clothing that offers more coverage.
(Specifically, the route includes a slide and a fully mirrored room that reflects the floor, which may cause discomfort to those wearing skirts, dresses, or loose-fitting shorts. For this reason, we recommend wearing trousers or fitted shorts.)

Schools & Company Visits

We are more than happy to help organise school visits (from preschool to senior university programmes) as well as team-building experiences for companies.
However, to ensure the best possible experience, there is a limit on the number of people per session. In this regard, and to make sure that each room can be fully enjoyed, we recommend contacting us in advance when booking for groups of 10 or more people.

Please email us at reservas@neonia.com at least 7 days prior to your preferred date, and we’ll work with you to define the best timing and conditions for your visit.

Precautions

The visit is not recommended for individuals with pacemakers, epilepsy, claustrophobia and/or severe light sensitivity. It is up to each visitor to decide on the terms of their participation, as well as that of any children under their supervision.

Light and Sound Sensitivity

We blend art and technology to create a fully interactive and immersive experience, but we understand that the combination of noise, light, and movement may be challenging for some visitors. That’s why we’ve taken care to design a balanced environment that can be enjoyed by all.

Some rooms are intentionally designed to offer a less intense sensory experience, and there are also seating areas available to take a break or enjoy a quiet moment before continuing your journey. For visitors who are more sensitive to light and sound, we recommend spending more time in these calmer spaces — and, in more extreme cases, skipping the more intense rooms altogether.
Our on-site staff is happy to help with personalised recommendations (some of them even enjoy power naps in the Crystal Palace Gardens room…).

Types of spaces and features visitors may encounter: dark areas, low lighting, protrusions, textured walls, narrow or low-clearance passages, flashing/strobe lights, lasers, mirrors, haze effects, music, loud noises, and exposed materials.
