THE OTHER SIDE OF PORTO

Neonia
Step into an alternative city where art, history, science, technology, and imagination converge.
Located in the heart of Porto (at Rua de Ceuta 116), this immersive and interactive museum experience invites you on an adventure where stunning visuals merge with innovation, creating an unforgettable journey through light, sound, and movement.
Getting here
The nearest metro station is Aliados (yellow line), just a 5-minute walk from the museum. The central Trindade station – where all Porto metro lines connect – is a 9-minute walk away.
The closest train station is São Bento, located just 10 minutes on foot.
No, Neonia does not have its own car park. However, there are several parking options available in the area – we recommend confirming opening hours before your visit.
If space is available, it is possible to park on Rua de José Falcão (metered zone).
Other options include nearby Saba underground car parks:
i) at the junction of Rua do Almada and Rua Elísio de Melo;
ii) at Praça de Carlos Alberto;
iii) at Praça de Lisboa (entrance via Rua de São Filipe de Nery), near the Clérigos Tower.
All parking options are paid.
The layout of the space and the room experiences have been designed to accommodate visitors with reduced mobility as best as possible. Both the building entrance and the transition between Neonia’s two floors allow for wheelchair access.
However, due to structural constraints, three rooms are not accessible to wheelchairs: the Metro do Porto and Jardim rooms on floor 0, and the Cofre Psicadélico room on floor -1.

FAQ
We estimate that each visit may take between 1 to 2 hours, but we do not set a mandatory minimum or maximum duration, as the time spent in the museum depends entirely on each visitor’s curiosity, enthusiasm, and availability. (Some visitors leave after 45 minutes, others only after 2-3 hours, when their phone battery runs out!)
The only exception is the first room, “Neonia City”, where the maximum stay is limited to 15 minutes to avoid blocking the entrance for incoming groups. In all other rooms, there are no time limits.
Ticket prices can be consulted at the physical ticket desk at the museum entrance or on this page by clicking the TICKETS button.
In both cases, tickets are sold directly, so there is no price difference between tickets purchased online or in person at the same time.
We do not impose any age limits (minimum or maximum) for entry, but we believe the experience is most enjoyable for children who are already able to walk.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and may only use the slide if they are aged 3 or above.
If younger visitors arrive in a pushchair, we recommend storing it in the secure cloakroom available at the entrance and carrying babies either in arms or using a baby carrier to ease movement inside the museum.
We also suggest that parents bring a muslin or cloth to shield their babies’ eyes in rooms with intense lighting.
IMPORTANT: The multimedia installations and artworks within the museum deserve (and require!) care and protection. Therefore, it is essential that adults provide close supervision of the children in their care throughout the visit.
Our assistants are available to accompany (rather than guide) visitors throughout the experience.
However, each artwork or installation is accompanied by a QR code for those who wish to learn more, with information available in 5 languages.
The visit is not recommended for individuals with pacemakers, epilepsy, claustrophobia and/or severe light sensitivity. It is the responsibility of each visitor to assess and decide on their own participation, as well as that of any children under their supervision.
If you are unable to arrive at the reserved date and time, we will do our best to accommodate your entry up to ten minutes later. After this grace period, the ticket will be cancelled without refund. To avoid this, we recommend arriving at reception 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
Refunds are not available. However, if you are unable to attend at the scheduled date and time, you may notify us via info@neonia.com up to 48 hours in advance and request to reschedule your visit to another available session within the following 60 days. A rescheduling fee of up to €3 per ticket may apply.
It is possible to change your booking (subject to availability on the requested date and time), provided the request is made at least 48 hours in advance.
Changing the time on the same day is free of charge, as long as there is availability in the new slot.
Changing the date is subject to a rescheduling fee of up to €3 per ticket, and if the ticket price on the new date is higher than what was originally paid, the difference in price must also be covered.
Yes, there is a special rate available for group tickets for parties of 10 or more people. To book a group visit, please email reservas@neonia.com at least 7 days in advance.
Yes. The route includes a slide and a fully mirrored room, which reflects the floor and may cause discomfort to those wearing skirts, dresses, or loose-fitting shorts. We therefore recommend wearing trousers or fitted shorts.
For safety reasons, entry is not permitted barefoot or wearing flip-flops.
Yes! Neonia is a unique and exciting setting for unforgettable birthday celebrations. When purchasing 8 or more guest tickets at group price, we offer a free ticket for the birthday child and one accompanying adult (or, if the birthday guest is an adult, their own ticket).
After the visit, we provide free access to a private, covered room where you can sing “Happy Birthday” and cut the cake. The room will be assigned depending on availability at your chosen time.

Covering an area of 1500 sqm, this museum is a place where, more than simply observing art, you become part of it!
